I was called two weeks ago about this Taurus by the shop that I will be moving to after next week (yay me ). At that time, the customer complaint was of the car stalling ...Engine won’t start until cranking turns on fuel pump circuit, and eventually results in fully re-pressurized fuel rail. One problem, car’s battery may be too dead to crank the engine that amount of time. In any event, good idea to only crank for 10 seconds at a time, then give 30 seconds for starter motor to cool down before cranking again.

No start condition when hot. My 2000 Taurus will not turn over if I make several stops and turn off the engine. The battery is strong. It happened twice and at first I thought it was the battery and did a posting here. Bought a new module, AA8Z-9D370-B, approx. $45, plugged it in and no problems since. It is located behind the passenger rear seat, under the liner, mounted on wheel well. Took about 10 mins.I have a 2000 Ford Taurus, it cranks but no start. Problem is intermittent though, one day it won't start, the next day it will and act as though it never happened. Problem started after an oil leak from the oil filter, took it in and got it serviced, full oil change new filters, and supposedly they cleaned up the mess it made. Leak is fixed.
